Hunting Concessions

Uvinza – Malagarasi

Uvinza – Makere Forest Reserves is part of a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance (the Malagarasi-Moyowosi Ramsar site). This is an important, vast and complex riverine floodplain wetland in northwest Tanzania, one of the largest and most important wetlands in East Africa. The basin has five main rivers: the Malagarasi, Moyowosi, Kigosi, Gombe, and Ugalla. Our Moyowosi Game Reserve includes a permanent papyrus swamp, large peripheral floodplains that fluctuate widely on a yearly basis and is surrounded by very extensive miombo woodlands and wooded grasslands including the Makere Forest Reserves and parts of Uvinza. This hunting concession is extremely important for large mammals such as Roan, Sable, Eland, Buffalo, Topi, Sitatunga, migratory and resident water birds such as Shoe Bill Storks, fish such as Tiger Fish, Yellow Fish, Vundu, and plants.

Mlele – Rukwa Game Reserve

Our Mlele – Rukwa area is adjacent to the Katavi National Park and is part of the Lake Rukwa Game Reserve. It has a plentiful and varied wildlife population and in particular large herds of Buffalo. Mlele varies from riverine to Miombo
habitat and also has some hilly country and open plains. The Mlele escarpment is a unique feature in this area with its crystal clear streams that flow straight from the bedrock. Mlele is particularly renowned for its large populations of both buffalo and leopard, Lion and Elephant, together with its exceptional quality of sable and Roan and other plains game.

Masailand

The beautiful, but dry, Masailand has been one of the big game hunter’s favorite destinations for decades. Lake Natron is perhaps scenically
the most beautiful and varied hunting district in Tanzania. In this concession there are good populations of all the typical Masailand game species such as Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk, Fringed eared Oryx, Thomson gazelle and other species
unique to Northern Tanzania. The district also has enormous leopards, good buffalo and even some really good, varied wing shooting.

Selous Game Reserve MT1

The Selous Game Reserve, the largest in the world, encompasses 54,000 sq. kilometres of Africa’s most un-spoilt wilderness. Predominantly miombo woodland, our Selous Concession Block MT1, is located on the Luwego, Mbarangandu and Njenje Rivers in the Southern part of the Selous Game Reserve. It offers a wide variety of species which include, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, Buffalo, Hippo and other plains-game species unique to Selous such as the Roosevelt Sable, Red Duiker and Nyasaland Wildebeest.
